How we treat information

SHARING WITH AFFILIATED COMPANIES
In order to provide better and more relevant products and services to you, we may share the information we collect, as described above, among our affiliates. You have the right to instruct us not to share this information among our affiliated insurance companies. However, even if you opt out, we may continue to share information among our affiliated insurance companies regarding your transactions and experiences with us, or as otherwise permitted by law. SHARING WITH NON-AFFILIATED COMPANIES
From time to time, we may wish to make the information we collect, as described above, available to nonaffiliated companies who want to offer products and services to you. We will disclose such information only to organizations who agree to respect your privacy and to use it only for the purposes intended. Organizations that may receive your information include financial services providers, such as mortgage bankers or lenders; and nonfinancial companies, such as retailers, direct marketers or contractors. You have the right to instruct us not to disclose information for this purpose. Again, to “opt out” simply call us at 913-553-3602. However, even if you opt out, we may continue to share information as permitted by law. (See Other Information Sharing below).
OTHER INFORMATION SHARING
Even if you choose to exercise your right to “opt out”, the law permits us to share certain information we collect with affiliated and non-affiliated companies. For example, we may share your information to underwrite or service a policy you originated with us, process transactions, or comply with legal requirements. We also may disclose information to persons who perform marketing services on our behalf, including insurance agents, to other service providers, or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. We will not share medical information for marketing purposes.
A FINAL WORD
We are committed to the security and confidentiality of your nonpublic personal information. We maintain reasonable physical, procedural and electronic security measures that meet applicable standards. In addition, our security practices include limiting access to this information only to those employees and business associates with appropriate authority and for intended business purposes only.
We typically will retain your personal information for a period of time after the end of a customer relationship. In some cases, we may be required to retain certain information for a certain amount of time by law or by industry standard. We maintain the same standards of privacy after the customer relationship has ended as we do for current customers.
Please note that if you provide personal information to other financial services providers not affiliated with us, for example, independent insurance agents or mortgage brokers, their use of such information may not be governed by this privacy notice. You should review the privacy notice of such third parties to understand how they collect, use and disclose such information.
Please note that if you have previously instructed us to not share your information in response to a notice we have sent you in the past, we will continue to honor your request until you notify us in writing. You do not need to take any further action in response to this notice.
